If you enquire about one of the cats in our care, either on here or our facebook page, please ensure you provide us with a lot of information.

  1. Is your house rented or owned, if rented we will need to see permission from your landlord.

2 Is someone at home a lot if you are enquiring about a single cat.

3. Do you have provisions set up for holidays?

4. Ages of all household members

4. Any other pets

5. Are you willing to travel

We have a go fund me link running at the moment, due to a large rescue of mommies and new babies. The vet bills alone are now over £1500. This is aside from food and litter. We will keep everyone updated.

Adoption policy

When we take a cat into our care, we have many conversations with the owner. At all times we abide by their wishes and what they require for their ragdoll when going to anew home. Therefore, the following will apply to all adoptions.

PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT HAVE KITTENS IN OUR RESCUE, ALL OF THE CATS WE HAVE ARE GENERALLY AGED OVER 2 YEARS. ANY REQUESTS FOR KITTENS WILL NOT BE RESPONDED TOO.

1. All cats are neutered prior to being rehomed.

2. Ragdolls are indoor cats, although a safe garden is fine. We do not rehome cats to free roaming homes.

3. No cats will be rehomed where there are children under 5 years old. If we have kittens we will assess this on an individual basis. The reason for this is 75% of the cats we have in our care, is because the home they lived in now has children and this has upset them greatly.

4. If you adopt from us and are no longer able to keep your ragdoll, they must be returned to our care.

5. Any medical care required, must be undertaken by a qualified vet.

6. We will only rehome with other pets, where we feel this is appropriate and if the ragdoll has lived with other pets before, a lot of the ragdolls we have is because people have bought puppies or other pets and the resident ragdoll is not happy.

7. Home checks will be carried out for all adoptions

8. You must be prepared to travel to collect a cat you are interested in adopting.

There is an adoption fee for all cats.

Please note: If the adoption is a home from home and we put you in touch with the owner, for you to arrange visiting/collection, if you then do the adoption privately and do not return the adoption forms to us and pay the adoption fee, Ragdoll Rescue will take no responsibility if anything goes wrong, such as, if the cat you have adopted has major health issues, toileting, or behavior problems. Ragdoll Rescue, will not be responsible for any vet bills or take the cat in, as the agreement will be between yourself and the owner. We operate how we do, to protect all parties involved. If done without our assistance and our paperwork completed and returned, we do not have any responsibility to assist.

REHOME POLICY

If you would like assistance with rehoming your ragdoll, we can help.

Please note, prior to us taking your cat into our care we require the following:

1. Photos of your ragdoll/s

2. Vet records - Without vet records, unless the ragdoll is from a vets, following a bereavement or if the cat has been found, we will not be able to proceed. We will not turn down a cat with certain medical issues, however, we need to be able to plan for this. We also do not want to be left with enormous vet bills that we were not made aware of.

3. Vaccine cards, if vaccinated are also required.

4. If coming into our care, you must be prepared to bring them to us, if appropriate.

5. If we have offered to have them in our safe houses and we do not hear from you within 5 days, we will not be able to hold the space any longer, we are very busy and therefore our safe house space is always in demand.

A handover form will need to be completed. This enables us to know your cats needs, food preferences, what litter they use, routines, etc.
